Achievements

Every journey has a first big step.

For WightTricks, Oslo was one of them.

In 2022 we travelled overseas as a team for the first time, heading to Norway for Oslo Movement Gathering. Millie, Poppy and Lily reached the top eight in the junior competition, while our older athletes stepped into strong international opposition.

Then Josh went all the way.

While WightTricks was beginning to travel further, something important was also growing at home.

Flip The Island Gathering - FTIG - was becoming our opportunity to bring the wider tricking community to the Isle of Wight.

Our trip to the Scottish Power Gathering became another major moment in the development of the team.

The opposition was strong, but so was WightTricks.

Individual performances, team victories and podiums across multiple divisions made the journey home from Scotland a memorable one.

By 2024, FTIG had developed into something much bigger.

Different ages and ability levels shared one competition floor, giving developing athletes the chance to compete alongside some of the people they looked up to.

And WightTricks athletes left their mark throughout the divisions.

The next trip to Scotland brought some serious competition.

Our athletes stepped into NoRivals alongside an incredibly talented UK field - and produced one of WightTricks' strongest competition performances to that point.

At the NEC in Birmingham, WightTricks once again tested itself against an exceptionally strong field containing international athletes.

We didn't return with every gold.

We returned knowing we belonged there.

FTIG 2025 represented another jump.

Athletes and judges arrived from Britain and overseas, including Japan, Finland, Italy, Sweden, Austria and America.

The little event we had built on an island was becoming international.

And throughout the weekend, complete beginners still stood on the same floor as world-class trickers.

Exactly as we intended.

The journey continued into Europe at the Team Airmoves Gathering in Poland.

Josh represented WightTricks and England against international opposition.

He came home a champion.

Some achievements change the way you see your own programme.

Portugal was one of them.

WightTricks travelled to the NoGravity World Championships, where athletes battled in an extraordinary setting by the beach against a genuinely international field.

Three WightTricks athletes stepped onto the podium.

By the end of 2025, something else had changed.

We weren't travelling with a handful of athletes anymore.

More than 30 WightTricks students, coaches and parents travelled together to Scotland - the largest group we had ever taken to a competition.

The weekend produced 2 golds, 6 silvers, 2 bronzes and three special awards, with podiums across Youth, Teen, Adult, Advanced, Pro and Team divisions.

By 2026, FTIG had become something we once could only have imagined.

Athletes travelled from across the UK and around the world - including Japan, Finland and America - to compete on our floor in Cowes.

More than 130 spectators surrounded the battle area.

Complete beginners competed in the same event as internationally recognised athletes.

And throughout every division, people cheered for more than their own team.

A nervous beginner landing their pass mattered.

A world-class combination mattered.

People became invested in each other's stories.

That is when competition becomes community.

Then came another milestone.

For the 22nd anniversary of Loopkicks, Bowie Brennan and Josh Williams were invited to the United States as special guests.

For anyone who understands tricking culture, that invitation carried significance of its own.

WightTricks athletes were no longer only travelling abroad to gain experience.

They were being invited into some of the spaces that helped shape the sport itself.

Josh then added another major international result.
